I am a native Californian, and graduate of UC Berkeley, in the ‘60’s. I served in the Peace Corps in Costa Rica, where I then opened an “American” restaurant. This launched me on a 27-year career in Culinary Arts, culminating as a full-time Chef Instructor. For over 25 years I have been actively involved in Community Service, Human Growth & Awareness work, Metaphysical Studies, and Spiritual Practices – including daily meditation.
My love for these activities, and a growing unrest with work led me to examine my life’s purpose and mission. Personal Life Coaching came to me as the perfect venue to fulfill my strong desire to be of service to others, especially to help them lead richer, fuller lives. Now, as an Empowerment Coach certified through IPEC, I am dedicated to the
LIFE YOU WANT!
My vision for my Coaching is...
”All my clients are exceptional, continually amazing and delighting me with the leaps and bounds they are making in their lives, and the depths to which they are reaching in their realizations from the work we are doing... All this, and I am doing work I truly love, in line with my life’s purpose ... uplifting myself, and all those I work with into richer, fuller lives.”
“As a Life Coach, and retired Chef, my specialty is working with people approaching retirement to tap into their passions and purpose, to come up with a Recipe for their retirement that will have them leaping out of bed in the morning to get to it!”

"COACHLYON's DVD/CD set "Creating Your Recipe for a Happier, Longer Life
in Retirement" is unique in that Richard addresses how to maximize your
retirement years from the non-financial perspective so that you spend the
rest of your life in a fulfilling manner. His presentation is made in his
Chef's uniform while relating the ingredients of his chocolate sauce to the
ingredients that make for a great retirement. Richard gives a compelling
summary of the important things that you should be thinking about as you
approach retireent including how to make the transition into a retirement
lifestyle that is right for you. Richard's relaxed conversational style and
practical advice make this set a must, particularly if you prefer an
audio-visual package over a book on retirement. In short, this is great
resource if you are thinking about retirement, nearing retirement, or you
have recently retired and are experiencing the retirement blues.
